Spanish-English

Coyuntura
Literally, la coyuntura is translated into English as the conjucture, or a combination of circumstances or events. But, in Spanish, the word has stronger connotations than in English. In the Spanish, there is more implication of a specific time frame in which particular structural conditions interact with events. In Spanish, the word is used often to indicate the particular context in which leaders are making decisions. By contrast, in English, the word is rarely used in this way.
